If a transparent isotropic material is placed in a strong magnetic field and linearly polarized light is transmitted in thedirection of the magnetic field, the plane of polarization of linearly polarized light rotates by an angle. In the present set up the optical activity of flint glass is investigated in a magnetic field. The angle of rotation ofplane polarized light is proportional to the length (L) and magnetic field (B).
